My (current) state of mind is this,
I know that while my thinking’s crisp,
When I act I’m quickly spent,
Not in body; mind has went,

I want to hold tight to my passions,
Walk a path away from fashions,
But, I fly to something else,
That adds a little to my pulse,

And, I take my old desire,
Set upon its back a wire,
Hang it up along the hall,
Collecting dust against the wall,

I’ve been this way since I was born,
These many interests, here I’m torn,
I hope to help myself by sharing,
Holding on to keep my bearing.
